Puppy and Dog Training Academy in Hilton, South Derbyshire.

I am a qualified dog trainer and as a member of the Institute for Modern Dog Trainers, I offer positive, force free and highly effective dog training from puppy-hood through to old age across South Derbyshire and its neighbouring counties.

I am passionate about dog training and its positive impact on a dog’s physical and mental well-being. I have studied for many years to ensure I have a wide toolkit (backed by science) to help dogs and their owners. Through the IMDT I have a supportive network of Trainers and Behaviourists who I work alongside and offer support to on a regular basis. We are all learning and growing together as a positive force in the ever-changing field of modern dog training.

Where necessary, I work alongside vets, therapists, rescue centres, research bodies and welfare organisations to ensure dogs and owners get the right solution to their dog training needs. A combined solution using each professional’s knowledge is the key for the more complex behavioural and training issues encountered by dog owners. I am proud to be vet recommended for dog training services.

My personal aim is to provide the best positive dog training solution for the dog and owner in front of me. All dogs are different. I am flexible and open minded in working alongside owners and sharing my experiences and knowledge with them. I take a keen interest in newer fields in dog training and welfare.

My classes reflect this aim – I regularly tailor make courses to address the most common dog training needs I encounter through working with owners, listening to their feedback and incorporating the most up to date science based and evidenced methods of positive dog training. I expect my dog training journey will take many different routes over the coming years and I look forward to you and your dog being part of that journey.

Happy Dogs

Rachel & Karen

“The support and advice Louise have to myself and my partner during our one to one training session was incredibly beneficial. She gave us practical tips and ideas on loose lead walking to ensure we were happy and our greyhound was happy out on walks. Thank you for the much needed help and support Louise.”

“We found the puppy classes extremely useful, both for socialising and working on our tricks and obedience through positive training methods. Now just under a year later we are still active members, but of Dog School. Louise is a fantastic dog trainer, she is happy to tailor her classes to suit the needs of all and encourages a friendly, positive and fun atmosphere.”

Puppy Training

Puppies are funny, silly and crazy… but so much fun. The positive energy during my Puppy Training in Derbyshire classes should be bottled up and made available on the NHS. They embrace every moment...

Adult Dog Training

The first two years of a dog’s life is when most people actively attend Adult Dog Training classes. Adult Dog Training is important for all dogs, many need regular mental stimulation…

One to One Dog Training Classes

Sometimes, a more personal and focused approach is needed. There are a lot of dogs out there that just need a little help but for whom adult dog training or puppy training classes may not be suitable.

(NEW) Dog Training Classes in Lichfield

I now have Puppy and Dog Training classes available in Lichfield, Staffordshire and I only use positive, kind and effective dog training methods to help you train your dog.

What Drives Me

My Vision

The positive dog training methods I use do not require aversive tools (choke chains, electric shock collars, water sprays, noise generating “correctors” or citronella collars). The world of dog training is ever changing, and I believe the future is very bright, not to mention force free!
